Bee Pollen Benefits

Specific Health Benefits of Bee Pollen

As you probably know, there are many specific health benefits of bee pollen. Some are too incredible to believe. Did you know that bee pollen is highly beneficial to your blood? If your river of blood is clean, that is a great achievement. Bee pollen actually increased the count of white and red blood cells. When given to anemic patients, researchers have found levels of hemoglobin increases. (Hemoglobin is oxygen-carrying red blood cells in the human body.)

Cholesterol and Bee Pollen

Researchers have also found that bee pollen when taken as a supplement or as a food helps normalize cholesterol and triglyceride levels in blood. In other words, bee pollen actually heps reduce cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. The bad cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins - LDL) decreased and the good cholesterol (high-density lipoproteins - HDL) increased and this is what you want. Blood serum is also increased.

Bee Pollen and Cancer

Years ago, a study was done on mammary tumors and bee pollen. The study found that "Particular attention was given to the weight of the treated animals, since underweight can in itself bring about a delay in tumor development. No decrease in weight occurred in the animals receiving the pollenized food. Instead, a slight but fairly uniform increase was noted, possibly due to a nutritional factor in pollen."

In the study, the results were interesting to say the least. In the mice who didn't have any bee pollen fed to them, mammary tumors appeared. "Tumor incidence was 100 percent." The mice given bee pollen, they showed resistance to the tumors that were specifically given to them to cause death. If they hadn't been given the bee pollen, their death would have appeared right on schedule - so say the researchers.

It is truly incredible that after billions spent on cancer research, this should have caused waves in the health community. Remember, this article appeared in 1948, not 2007. So, what happened? Other than the National Cancer Institute publishing the article, nothing happened. It just was allowed to drop.

But wait there's more. In Europe at the University of Vienna, a study was done on 25 women who had inoperable uterine cancer. Not surprisingly, the women were treated with the dehumanizing treatment known as chemotherapy. The women given bee pollen to eat or ingest showed a high concentration of cancer-fighting, immune-system cells, increased infection fighting red blood cells and an increase in antibody production. These women too took chemotherapy but the bee pollen helped to lessen significantly the nause that comes from the treatment.

Bee pollen is shown to increase the libido by increasing hormone production in the body even in those older. (Of course, those who are stuck in the Victorian age will be offended by such a statement even though I'm just passing on scientifically proven information. This doesn't make me a sexual deviant -- it's just information folks.)

How about with longevity? In a study done in Romania, bee pollen showed significant immune system enhancement. The study found, "An increase has been recorded in the level of blood lymphocytes, gamma globulins, and proteins in those subjects given pollen in comparison with control groups. The most significant difference occurred in lymphocytes. These results thus signify a strengthening in the resistance of the organic system."  This study was found in the report "Comparative Studies Concerning Biochemical Characteristics of Beebread as Related to the Pollen Preserved in Honey" by Drs. E. Palos, C. Andrei, and Z. Voiculescu.

Bee pollen also helps resolve infertility in women, fight allergies, give increased strength and endurance, helps to control weight, and is a key agent in longevity.

Conclusion

Bee pollen is really a superfood and a super supplement and now you can see why. I take this particular bee pollen supplement as I've found it's the best. I'll let you decide which one is best for you.
